Kanchenjunga south base camp trek is comparatively shorter than one which takes you to the base camps of the both sides of the mountain. This superb trek to the South Face Base Camp of the world's third highest peak (Mt. Kanchenjunga 8,598m) begins right after landing at Suketar airstrip in Taplejung District. The mountain stands on the furthermost Northeast corner of Nepal bordering Tibet an autonomous region of china to the North and the Indian state Sikkim to the east. Having massive numbers of peak in its range, Kanchenjunga supports  five major glacial systems; three of them the Zemu, Talung and Rathong flow into Sikkim sourcing the Tista river to the east of the massif and rest two the Kanchenjunga and Yalung glacier, the major sources of the Tamur river, flows to the west of the mountain in Nepal.
