Guerilla trail trekking is a complete political itinerary, launched recently in 2012 by the commander of the former People's Liberation Army of Nepal (Maoist Army) and Maoist leader Comrade Prachanda (Pushpa Kamal Dahal). This three weeks long trek follows the itinerary throughout the mainland of a decade long people's war of Nepal. This newly opened trekking trail to western Himalaya takes tourist through the villages to witness the scenes of 10 years long people's war in Nepal and provides the opportunity to experience the sentiments and the effects of a decade long people's war in Nepal and learn how the guerillas were operated and how they battled against the government security forces. This Guerilla trek covers Rukum and Rolpa districts of mid-western region of Nepal from where the Maoist started their so called people's war for the first time which spread throughout the whole nation afterward.

Guerilla trek is not trekking only in combat zones for political interest it is also for nature, culture and mind-blowing Mountain Views. Rukum district is known also as the place of 52 lakes and 53 hills, which offers opportunities to witness diversities on flora and fauna. Main aspect to launch this itinerary is to promote the war tourism in Nepal as well as to divert the tourist from very busy areas like Annapurna and Everest region.
